It was a friday night, a normal youth night for us Christians at VCF-Ortigas, Basically, we are on our series called “God’s Gym: Fit for Life” and last night’s topic was all about “strengthening our body.”

I can still remember on how I’d abused my body when I wasn’t a Christian, I spent almost a thousand bucks, 5 days a week just to feed my stupid vices — drinkng and smoking with my buddies then. Like when I smoke, I never choose cheap cigarettes brand, I always go for the blue seal, and when I drink, I usually end up almost broke for every night that I spent drinking with my buddies. My body feels so tired then, I was a leader of an organization in our school as well as helping the other organization during the day, and wind up satisfying my vices at night. There were days when I would hang out with my friends drinking overnight until for the next 2 days, still drinking and having fun with them.

But ever since I became a Christian last year, I decided then to stop. up to this date I’m living a life without craving for alcohol and cigarette sticks each day. It just stops… Its a decision, an easy decision for me, because I made Jesus as the master of my life.

Now my mind and body is more relax and stress-free everyday.

Lessons learn:

Vices such as smoking and drinking, and many other bad habits will cause you losing your self-confidence, because you’re being too dependent on those vices.

It will cause you to do something bad that you will regret someday.

Not just you will destroy your physical body but also your spiritual body.
